Children with cancer feel like they are alone; that they are adrift at sea. They see storm clouds on the horizon, and darkness surrounding them. But they do not have to feel this way. The world, just like the ocean, is a vast place with many different “faces”. There are many other children with cancer, who feel the same way as them. Helping these children meet others like themselves can make the stormy sea seem much calmer, and allow them to see the beautiful life within.
This Facility will be a place where child cancer patients, and their families, can come to recuperate from not only the physical stress of the radiation and chemotherapy treatments, but the mental anxiety as well. through space planning, color, design and lighting, this facility will be a place that lifts the spirits of the child cancer patients and their families, and allows them the normal life they never dreamed possible.
